Bill Clinton: No GOP crystal ball

WASHINGTON, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Former U.S. President Bill Clinton said Sunday he doesn't yet see a clear-cut leader for the 2008 Republican nomination for president.

Clinton -- whose wife, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., is a top contender for her party's nomination -- said it remains to be seen whether former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani can fend off attacks; whether former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney can build in the polls; whether Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. can produce results without money; and whether former Sen. Fred Thompson, R-Tenn., can better define himself without being too precise.

"I think all four of them could still win" Clinton said on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos."

Clinton said Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is a dark horse, but "the best speaker they got."

"I can't tell who's going to win," he said. "If I had a clue, I'd be glad to say."
