Toilet coma

(BANG) - A US man is claiming his recent diabetic coma was caused by him being glued to a toilet seat four years ago.

Bob Dougherty, from Colorado, briefly slipped into the coma in September but believes it happened because of his traumatic experience in a department store in 2003.

The 59-year-old had gone to the toilet but an unknown prankster had put glue on the seat and when firefighters eventually freed him, Bob had passed out and an amount of skin had been ripped from his buttocks.

He claims this caused his diabetes and has now sued the store.

His lawyer said: "Our contention has been that his post-traumatic stress disorder brought about his diabetic condition. So you can say, 'Well, this would not have occurred but for being glued to the toilet.'"
