Steaming drunk

(BANG) - A German man was stuck in a chimney for 12 hours after trying to climb into his friend's apartment while drunk.

The 27-year-old man had been drinking at Munich's Oktoberfest before deciding to try and get into the apartment by climbing onto the roof of the building next door.

He then slid 98ft headfirst into a chimney after mistaking it for a gap in the wall between the two buildings.

The man was rescued 12 hours later by fire brigade officers when they knocked a hole into the side of the chimney.

A Munich police spokesman said: "Miraculously, he was only slightly injured in the fall, sustaining just grazes and bruising. He was taken to hospital by helicopter where he ibeing treated for hypothermia."
