TelevisionTen things you might want to know about television - We all know that television is the main source of entertainment for all of us and especially (perhaps unfortunately) for our children. For kids one of the best ways to pass time is watching TV. There are varieties of channels for children's entertainment. Television is something very attracting for them which shows varieties of cartoons, movies, dramas, kid shows etc. Hence kids do spend more time watching TV rather than playing or studying. We can say that by the time the normal American teenager crosses their 18th year of life they would have spent about 25,000 hours watching television. There are numerous interesting facts related to television which everybody is keen to know, some of them are: "In year 1928 man's first color television transmission occurred in John Logie Bairds UK studio that showed some blue and red scarves and a London policeman's hat. The program lasted eight years and this still makes Jerry the highest paid TV actor so far". "700 Japanese youngsters were rushed to hospital with severe convulsions and trauma while viewing an episode of famous Japanese cartoon Pokemon; this was caused by the cartoon hero Pikachu flashing his red eyes to the sound of a massive booming explosion". "Some early experimental TV transmissions began way back in 1928 by station W2XBS and featured a test figurine of the well known Felix the cat". "In the USA the largest section of the Television audience is made up of pre-school children and their weekly TV consumption is about 30.4 hours".
