Hunting shows like "American Idol" and "So you think you can dance" are in high demand nowadays. There are so many young talents who are aspiring to become an actor, singer, dancer, choreographer etc. These shows are the platform for all young talent who wants to put their feet into the stream. SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE was created by Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe and comes from 19 TV Ltd. and Dick Clark productions. It is executive-produced by Simon Fuller, Nigel Lythgoe and Allen Shapiro. It is the hot new series that will have America moving to a different beat, as dancers skilled in everything from ballroom and ballet to salsa, jive, and hip-hop and trumping, all compete to be named the best. The people who bring you Dick Clark and his many shows and the people who bring you American Idol have teamed up to produce a dancer's version of American Idol. If you think the AMERICAN IDOL competition is tough, you haven't seen anything yet! Some contestants will collapse under the pressure, others will reveal their two left feet and one will dance his or her way into America's heart. The best undiscovered dancing talent the U.S. has to offer will be pitted against each other in a grueling 12-week competition to become America's No. 1 dancer. Dancers must impress the judges with their moves and rigorous routines in order to survive the auditions and be invited to Hollywood. Producers traveled to Chicago, New York and Los Angeles in search of dancers who represent the soul and rhythm of America. Some dancers wow the judges, while others leave them speechless. A fortunate 50 dancers who survive the auditions will go to Hollywood to work with five of the top choreographers in the business: Alex Da Silva, Brian Friedman, Dan Karaty, Mia Michaels and Mary Murphy. During the "Hollywood Week," the semifinalists will dance their hearts out, as they learn challenging routines and hope to impress the choreographers.
