South Korea to Host 2014 Asian Games

KUWAIT CITY - The South Korean city of Incheon won the bid

to host the 2014 Asian Games over India's New Delhi.

The Olympic Council of Asia announced the vote of the

assembly's 45 members on Tuesday.

The Asian Games are held every four years, and the OCA regulates the games under the supervision of the International Olympic Committee.

Sheik Ahmed Al Fahad Al Sabah, president of OCA's general assembly, said he would not disclose the breakdown of how the general assembly members voted, in the "interest of unity" of the Asian Games.

The OCA governs all sports in Asia, including the Asian Games, and is based in Kuwait City.

Since the start of the Asian Games in 1951, Chinese athletes have dominated the event. The 16th Asian Games will be held in 2010 in Guangzhou, China.
