Red Wings lead NHL West All-Star voting

NEW YORK, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Detroit's Nicklas Lidstrom and Henrik Zetterberg were leading among Western Conference players in balloting to determine the NHL All-Star Game starters.

Fan voting is to determine the three forwards, two defensemen and goaltender who will start in the Jan. 27 NHL All-Star Game in Atlanta.

Lidstrom is the leading vote-getter in the Western Conference with 420,436 votes. Calgary's Dion Phaneuf was second in the voting for defensemen with 275,395.

Zetterberg totaled 291,952 votes for second most and first among the Western Conference forwards. Another Red Wing, Pavel Datsyuk, was second at 262,619 and Calgary's Jarome Iginla was third with 213,258.

Vancouver's Roberto Luongo was leading the balloting for goaltenders with 228,583 votes.

Voting for the NHL All-Star Game starters continues through Wednesday at nhl.com.
