SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Niklas Lidstrom's second-period goal turned out to be the game-winner Saturday night when the Detroit Red Wings routed San Jose 6-3.

Lidstrom also had two assists. Daniel Cleary and Henrik Zetterberg also had a goal and two assists, and Dominik Hasek had 15 saves for the Red Wings, who won their second straight game following a three-game slide.

Sandis Ozolinsh had three assists, and Devin Setoguchi, Jonathan Cheechoo and Steve Bernier scored for the Sharks, who lost their fourth straight game. Evgeni Nabokov allowed all six Detroit goals while stopping 22 shots.

Lidstrom scored on the power play with 6:45 left in the second and then Holmstrom scored with 4:33 left to put the Red Wings up 5-2 after two periods.

The Sharks made it 5-3 on Bernier's power-play goal 47 seconds into the third, but that was the end of the scoring for San Jose.
