Michael Jordan

Michael Jeffrey Jordan, commonly known as Michael Jordan is an American professional basketball player of NBA. Jordan was born on February 17, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A. Jordan along with family moved to Wilmington, North Carolina at a very young age. He studied from Emsley A. Laney High School, a place where he began playing football, baseball, and basketball. He later attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he majored in geography and earned a basketball scholarship. He started playing for the Bulls as a shooting guard. Jordan is best known for earning six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls, 10 scoring titles, and was league MVP five times. In 1991, Jordan was named as the "Sportsman of the Year" by Sports Illustrated. Today, he is considered in one of the world's finest basketball players and sometime credited as 'Air Jordan or 'His Airness'. In 1999, ESPN also named him the greatest athlete of North America of 20th century. He has also appeared on the cover of sports Illustrated for 49 times since 1983.
