MADISON, Wis., Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Marcus Landry scored 21 points Saturday and No. 17 Wisconsin shut down Northwestern 62-50.

Joe Krabbenhoft finished with 13 points and nine rebounds, and Michael Flowers scored 11 for Wisconsin (15-2, 5-0 Big 10), which has won nine straight games.

Michael Thompson had 16 points and five assists, and Jason Okrzesik scored nine for the Wildcats (6-9, 0-5) who have lost four of their last five.

Wisconsin took a 22-20 lead at intermission, but opened the second half with eight unanswered points to take control of the contest.
