NEW YORK, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- A lay-up by Drew Neitzel with 2.4 seconds left Thursday night gave unranked Michigan State a 63-61 upset of 18th-ranked Texas.

Raymar Morgan had 18 points, five rebounds and four assists. Neitzel had 15 points, six rebounds and six steals; and Maurice Joseph had 12 points and four rebounds for the unbeaten Spartans (4-0), who will face Maryland for the championship of the Coaches versus Cancer Classic Friday night at New York's Madison Square Garden.

The Terrapins drilled St. Johns, 92-60.

A.J. Abrams had 22 points and six assists for Texas. Kevin Durant added 21 points, nine rebounds and four blocked shots for the 2-1 Longhorns, who led, 40-36, at the break.

Texas was done in by a 12-0 run by the Spartans midway through the second half, which left them with a 54-47 deficit.

Texas led at the break, 40-36.

MSU won the rebounding battle, 38-34.
