MEMPHIS, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Chris Douglas-Roberts led all scorers with 19 points Saturday night and No. 2 Memphis beat Southern Mississippi 83-47.

The victory left the Tigers (17-0, 4-0 Conference-USA) as one of only two unbeaten teams in Division I. No. 3 Kansas remained unbeaten Saturday with a 76-70 win over Missouri, but the top-ranked North Carolina Tarheels dropped their first contest of the season in an 82-80 loss at home to Maryland.

Derrick Rose scored 13 points, Doneal Mack had 12, and Robert Dozier scored six points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Memphis, which has won 27 straight conference games.

R.L. Horton and Jeremy Wise had nine points apiece for Southern Miss (9-9, 1-3). Andre Stephens finished with seven points and 10 boards.

Southern Miss kept it close for the first 12 minutes of the game, pulling to within 24-20, but Memphis took off on a 20-3 run the rest of the half and never looked back.
