Bush reported out for rest of season

ATLANTA, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush reportedly will be out the rest of the season because of a ligament tear in his left knee.

The (New Orleans) Times-Picayune reported Bush, who did not travel to Atlanta for Monday night's game with the Falcons, was examined by orthopedist Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala.

The newspaper reported Andrews confirmed the original diagnosis, but that surgery likely would not be required to repair the damage.

Bush has gained 581 yards on 157 carries with four touchdowns, and 73 receptions for 417 yards and two touchdowns this season. He also has fumbled eight times in 12 games.
