Bengals fire defensive coordinator

CINCINNATI, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- The Cincinnati Bengals dismissed defensive coordinator Chuck Bresnahan Wednesday and also fired linebackers coach Ricky Hunley.

Cincinnati, touted as a division contender prior to the season, had a 7-9 campaign.

Bresnahan had been the Bengals' defensive chief for three seasons. He is the second defensive coordinator fired by Coach Marvin Lewis.

Hunley had been with Cincinnati for five years.
