The Queen of England enjoyed her visit to Chelsea Flower Show

The Queen of England enjoyed her visit to this year's Chelsea Flower Show - despite the terrible weather. Dressed in purple and wearing a headscarf to protect her from the rain, the 80-year-old monarch wandered around the Great Pavilion admiring the colourful floral displays. She was accompanied to the event - which was held in London - by Prince Philip, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall. The theme for this year's professional flower arranging competition was 80 Glorious Years - in honour of the queen's 80th birthday last month. The monarch was fascinated by the New Zealand themed garden - which was complete with black sandy beaches. She was evidently delighted when she discovered some of the lush plants from the garden would be delivered to her own garden at Windsor Castle. Britain's Princess Anne also attended the show and was overhead praising the variety of foliage. When the royal party met gardening expert Peter Sea-Brook, he proudly showed off his new variety of tree, which was grown in his Essex garden. The gardener gave Prince Charles a cutting from the tree, named Sunshine because of its bright leaves, and also presented Camilla with a beautiful posy. Sea-brook was quoted by Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: "It's a great thrill to think Sunshine will be shining out from the prince's garden."
