Swedens Queen Silvia Urged Country to give to vicitims in Pakistan

Sweden's Queen Silvia has urged the country to give generously to the
earthquake victims in Pakistan and keep them in their thoughts.
The monarch asked the public to contribute to collections for the millions
left without shelter, food and water in earthquake-hit areas in northern
Pakistan.
Silvia delivered her message as Swedes prepared to celebrate All Saints Day
last Sunday (06.11.05).
Traditionally, many members of the public visit the graves of their friends
and relatives during the weekend of the religious celebration.
The queen - who has now jetted to Australia for a week-long state visit with
her husband King Carl Gustaf - said: "It is a weekend when we think of those
close to us who have passed away, but it is important also to think of those
who are still alive."
She added: "I want therefore to ask Swedes to contribute to the collections
being made in all the Swedish churches.
"The situation in the affected areas is desperate, and people need all the
help they can get, so I want to support the church and others who collect
money for earthquake aid and encourage everyone to contribute."
