Princess Diana jury tour hotel

(BANG) - The jury at the inquest into the death of Britain's Princess Diana begin their second day retracing the princess' final movements in Paris today (09.10.07).

The 11 jurors will tour the inside of the Ritz Hotel where Diana and lover Dodi Fayed had been staying before their fatal car journey on August 31, 1997.

They will also retrace the route between the hotel and driver Henri Paul's apartment in the Rue des Petits Champs, where he is thought to have gone during the three hours before chauffeuring the couple.

Yesterday (08.10.07), the jury visited the Pont de l'Alma tunnel, where Diana's car crashed into pillar 13, killing her, Dodi and their driver.

The jurors were led on a tour of Paris and travelled the route Diana and Dodi took from the Ritz to the fatal site in the tunnel.

They were taken back to the crash scene at night, as Coroner Lord Justice Scott Baker wanted them to see the tunnel in the dark because Diana's car crashed in the early hours of the morning.

They also retraced the route that an ambulance took carrying Diana to the Pitie Salpetriere Hospital, where she eventually died.

The jury must decide whether the British establishment murdered Diana and Dodi as they were set to announce their engagement and the princess was pregnant or if their deaths were just a tragic accident.

The court will resume its deliberations in London tomorrow (10.10.07).

Meanwhile, in a bizarre twist to yesterday's proceedings, Victoria Beckham left the Ritz Hotel in the full glare of reporters who were covering the jury's visit.

The Spice Girl walked in front of the jurors' bus, which was waiting to start its journey, causing a scrum amongst the paparazzi even though she could have taken another route from the hotel.
