Morocco King Mohammed Pardons imates

 Morocco's King Mohammed has pardoned or cut the jail terms of more than
1,000 people to mark the end of the Eid al-Fitr feast.
It is traditional for the kingdom's monarch to grant royal pardons as part
of a various national and religious public holidays.
This year he granted 280 prisoners a full pardon and reduced the sentences
of 768 detainees as the last part of the feast, which comes at the end of
the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.
More than 60 people who were not in prison had their fines annulled,
according to a report on the Reuters website.
The king has also this week condemned the abduction of two Moroccan hostages
in Iraq.
Abderrahim Boualem and Abdelkrim Mouhafidi - both employees at the Moroccan
embassy in Baghdad - were reportedly kidnapped as they were returning from
Jordan last month.
The king said in a TV interview: "We condemn the reprehensible kidnapping of
two Moroccan citizens by terrorist groups in Iraq."
The monarch also called for the victims to be freed.
He said: "We remain hopeful that the captors will become reasonable and set
free our two innocent citizens who come from an Arab and Muslim country"
