Shawn Corey Carter aka Jay-Z

Shawn Corey Carter, professionally known as Jay-Z is an American hip-hop singer. Jay-Z was born on December 4, 1969 in Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A. Jay-Z is best known as the most successful rappers of the late 1990's and early 2000's. Jay-Z studied and graduated from the high school in Trenton, New Jersey. He started writing rhymes since he was in high school and is still remembered for it. He is also a co-founder of the Roc-a-Fella Records. After Roc-a-Fella was sold, he later joined Def Jam Recordings as its president and C.E.O. In 2004, Jay-Z announced his retirement from the music industry. The singer is romantically linked with famous R&B singer, Beyoncé Knowles.
