Danity Kane

Danity Kane is the name of a five-member, all-female music group that was hand-picked on the third installment of the “Making the Band” television reality series, which was run by music mogul Diddy. Aubrey Morgan O’Day, D. Woods, Shannon Rae Bex, Dawn Angelique Richard, and Aundrea Aurora Fimbres are the members of the band. Danity Kane is the name of a character that Dawn created. She draws anime in her free time, and Diddy liked the Danity Kane character that Dawn drew and decided that the group should adopt the name. The group’s self-titled debut was released on August 22, 2006, and the first single, “Show Stopper,” debuted at the #17 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100, reaching as high as #8. In the middle of October 2006, all members of the group minus D. Woods were involved in a car accident when their limousine was hit by another car at an intersection. All members were released, but were forced to cancel an appearance the next night.
