Bo Bice

Bo Bice - Born on November 1st 1975. He is one of the contestant in the fourth season of American Idol. Bo is a native of Alabama from Helena in Shelby County and currently living in Birmingham. Bice first made his mark at the age of 9, when he won a local school competition. After high school, he turned professional and performed in shows all across the United States, the United Kingdom and Ireland. He is a veteran of the nightclub circuit, having performed solo and in rock groups such as Sugar Money, Purge and the Bo Bice Band. Among his credits: opening for Blackfoot and Warrant as well as performing live and recording with Jonny Neal of the Allman Brothers. Other than singing he also plays piano, guitar, bass, sax, harmonica and even writes songs. Bo has made a recording studio at his home. He is now in the top 5 contestants on American Idol. According to the Smoking Gun website, the Idol contestant was arrested in 2001 in Huntsville, Alabama for felony cocaine possession and again in 2003 around Birmingham, Alabama for marijuana possession, public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia. In August 2001, Bice's cocaine charge was dismissed when the investigator failed to show up for a preliminary hearing. It was before he auditioned for Idol, but as with fellow contestant Scott Savol, he was forthcoming to Idol producers about the arrests, so they let him stay on. Unlike contestants who have been kicked off from American Idol for past indiscretions, Fox has issued a statement saying that Bice will not face the same fate. "From the beginning, Bo was honest and forthcoming in revealing his previous indiscretions and their outcomes," said an American Idol representative in a statement.
