Zach Braff's deal anything but scrubby

LOS ANGELES, March 6 (UPI) -- "Scrubs" star and Los Angeles resident Zach Braff could be in for a nice chuck of change as long as NBC renews the hospital comedy for a seventh season.

The actor signed a one-year deal with "Scrubs" producer ABC TV Studio that would pay him about $350,000 per episode for the 2007-08 season of "Scrubs," the Hollywood Reporter said Tuesday.

The deal is contingent on NBC picking up the show for a seventh year, which is expected. If it is renewed, Braff's agreement would place him among the highest-paid male actors on television, alongside "Two and a Half Men" star Charlie Sheen, whose paycheck also is in the $350,000-per-episode range, the Hollywood Reporter said.

On the large screen, audiences warmly received the 2004 romantic comedy "Garden State," for which Braff was a writer, director and star He has a role in the comedy "The Ex," and is to star and direct the drama "Open Hearts."
