White to take 'Fortune' back home to S.C.

CHARLESTON, S.C., Nov. 29 (UPI) -- Three upcoming weeks of "Wheel of Fortune" are set to take place in South Carolina, the home state of the game show's co-host, Vanna White.

The special February episodes will be recorded in Charleston and will spotlight area landmarks, while offering contestants a chance to win prizes on the popular syndicated series, producer KingWorld said in a news release.

The show's set, including its familiar spinning wheel, will be transported to the Charleston Area Convention Center for taping between Jan. 12 and 14, a move that White called a dream come true.

"I'm thrilled to take 'Wheel of Fortune' to my birthplace, South Carolina," said White, who was born in North Myrtle Beach. "I am so proud of where I grew up and want to share the charm of this beautiful state with our viewers."

The show is set to add to its February programming with its annual "Country Music Stars Week," which pairs contestants with top country recording artists in competition to generate funds for favored charities.
