Tori Spelling joins 'Smallville' cast

NEW YORK, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- The often gossiped about Tori Spelling will play a gossip columnist in the upcoming season of "Smallville" on the new CW TV network.

Spelling will guest star as a gossip columnist for the Daily Planet, the newspaper that eventually hires an older Clark Kent, TVGuide.com reported.

Spelling's character, described as "the villain of the week" will be able to turn herself into water, since in "Smallville" everybody seems to have some sort of super powers.

"Smallville" Executive Producer Al Gough said Spelling will expose some big secrets that "will be driving the second half of the season."
