NASHVILLE, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Rascal Flatts won the prize for vocal group of the year at the 41st annual CMA awards show in Nashville Wednesday.

For the honor, the band beat out Alison Krauss and Union Station, featuring Jerry Douglas; the Dixie Chicks; Emerson Drive and Little Big Town.

Sugarland was named vocal duo of the year at the event.

Also nominated in the category were Big & Rich, Brooks & Dunn, Montgomery Gentry and The Wreckers.
