Oprah partners with YouTube

NEW YORK, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Oprah Winfrey has partnered with YouTube on a channel that features authorized content from, and behind-the-scenes of, Winfrey's U.S. television show.

The deal was made through Winfrey's Harpo Productions, AdAge.com reported.

In a YouTube message to fans, Winfrey said the channel was so new "we don't even have a name for (it.) So we're just going to call it, 'Hey, what about Oprah's channel?'"

YouTube founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen appeared on Winfrey's show Tuesday when the partnership was officially be announced.

"It provides another platform for people online to communicate with us and share in some of the one-of-a-kind experiences that occur behind-the-scenes at 'The Oprah Winfrey Show,'" said Tim Bennett, president of Harpo Productions.
