Gnarls Barkley to enjoy busy Grammy night

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- When the Grammy awards annual ceremony takes place next month in Los Angeles, newcomers Gnarls Barkley will appear as both nominees and performers.

Billboard magazine reports the musical duo, made up of rapper Cee-Lo Green and producer Danger Mouse, will not only be up for a Grammy for best album of 2006, but will offer its musical talents in a feature performance.

In addition to the "Crazy" musicians, similar busy nights will be enjoyed by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Dixie Chicks and Beyonce Knowles.

While the Dixie Chicks and the Red Hot Chili Peppers will vie with Gnarls Barkley for 2006's top album along with offering performances, Knowles will perform and aim to take home a Grammy in four key categories.

The "B'Day" singer is nominated for best contemporary R&B album, R&B song, female R&B vocal performance and rap/sung collaboration.

This year's 49th rendition of the awards show will be broadcast live from the Staples Center by CBS on Feb. 11.
