'The Price is Right' for Drew Carey

NEW YORK, July 23 (UPI) -- Drew Carey will replace Bob Barker as host of "The Price is Right," the comic leaked on CBS' "Late Show With David Letterman" in New York.

In the segment, scheduled to air Monday night, Carey said, "It's a done deal, I'm the new host of 'The Price is Right," CBS reported. His announcement confirms weeks of speculation that Carey would succeed the long-time game show host.

Carey said he received the news 15 minutes before he went on stage to do the interview with Letterman.

"All I know is all the deal points have been settled," he told Letterman.

Carey said the possible deal had been in the works for some time, and that CBS approached him after he filmed a pilot of "Power of 10," another game show on the eye network.
