Kim Basinger Back In Court

Kim Basinger has been back in court to continue her ongoing custody battle
with ex-husband Alec Baldwin.
The stunning actress, who at present shares custody of 10-year-old daughter
Ireland with the actor, attended a hearing in Los Angeles Superior Court on
Tuesday (13.12.05).
Court Commissioner Maren Nelson banned the public and all media from the
hearing, which Baldwin did not attend, but Basinger was seen leaving the
courthouse almost two hours later wearing dark glasses.
The 52-year-old screen beauty's lawyer, Neal Hersh, refused to discuss the
particulars of the case but revealed Basinger was happy with proceedings at
the hearing.
Hersh said: "Kim is respectful of what the judge did and she's pleased with
today. We're hopeful this will be the end of it."
Baldwin's lawyer, Vicki Greene, also said she was happy with proceedings,
saying: "We are very pleased with the judge's thoroughness."
The former couple - who split in 2000 and divorced in 2002 after a
tempestuous nine-year marriage - have been fighting over custody
arrangements since January 2004.
Previously, both Basinger and Baldwin, 47, have accused each other of
"emotional instability" in their bids to secure more time and contact with
Ireland.
After yesterday's hearing, Basinger's lawyer, Hersh, admitted the actor had
a right to be a father to his daughter, and revealed that the pair's
relationship had improved.
Hersh said: "He has a right to parent his daughter."
No future hearings have been scheduled.
