Katie Holmes' baby deadline

Katie Holmes' plan to have a baby this year have been jeopardised by the Hollywood writer's strike, it has been claimed.

The Mad Money star - who was reportedly hoping to have another baby with husband Tom Cruise by December - was due to start filming new movie The Other Side in Nova Scotia this month, but the project's financing has been delayed due to the ongoing writers' dispute.

A source told America's OK! magazine: "She had it all figured out. She would shoot The Other Side and then get pregnant. She was hoping to have the baby by the end of the year, go back to work next spring and have another film out by the end of 2009.

"Both she and Tom - especially Tom - were hoping to have their next baby before Katie turns 30 in December."

Katie and Tom, 45, already have a 21-month-old daughter, Suri, together.
