David Bowie Lifetime Achievement Award

David Bowie will be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the upcoming Grammy awards. The British rock legend, along with late comic genius Richard Pryor, among others, will be presented with the prestigious accolade at a special ceremony on February 7. The award celebrates artists who've created distinguished and influential recordings throughout the course of their career. Despite the huge impact he's had on generations of musicians and music lovers, amazingly, the 'Ashes To Ashes' singer has never won a Grammy. Incredibly, Bowie has only managed a single nomination, for Best Video Album in 1985. Recording Academy president Neil Portnow said: "Bowie's work exemplifies the highest artistic and technical standards, creating a timeless legacy that has positively affected multiple generations, and will continue to influence generations to come."
