Claire Danes claims designer Narciso Rodriguez saved her from getting a sleazy image.

The 'Stardust' star has revealed that at the start of her career she wanted to wear skimpy outfits and bare all, but was persuaded by Narciso to dress like a lady.

Claire, 28, said: "I was 17 and I had just finished Romeo and Juliet. My publicist at the time was pretty clever, and she introduced me to Narciso when I was about to present an award at the Oscars.

"At 17, girls are so confused about sex. Maybe they've just started to have it, and they think full exposure is what they're supposed to aim for, and, of course, it's not.

"So I wanted to be sexy for the Oscars! And Narciso said, 'No, you're a girl. You should look age-appropriate.' It seems pretty fundamental, but it was important for me to hear that at the time."
