Tina Fey

Tina Fey - Born May 18th 1970, in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. Daughter of Donald and Jeannec Fey, Tina studied drama at the University of Virginia. After graduation in 1992, she moved to Chicago where she worked for a YMCA to support herself. Meanwhile, she also went for the audition for the selective second city training. Though she failed in auditionm, she came back for a re-audition after 8 weeks and was accepted into the yearlong program. 1995 proved to be a lucky year for Tina when, Adam McKay Tina's friend and writer of "Saturday Night Live" came to the Second City's cast, hunting for new talent and found Tina. She started writing for them and sent a submission package with 6 sketches over the summer. Thereafter she met Lorne Michaels who offered her a job in the Legendary Studio 8H. Youngest among all of the writers and the only female at that time was Tina Fey. She was the first head writer in the show's history. She also made her debut with Jimmy Fallon featuring the weekend update during the 25th season, which was considered the best ever. Some of her projects as a head writer include Saturday Night Live, The Colin Quinn Show, NBC 75th Anniversary Special, Mean Girls and Curly Oxide and Vic Thrill (already announced to be release in 2005). She is married to Jeff Richmond (Second City Director) and both are currently living in New York.
