Sandra Oh

Sandra Oh - is a Korean actress who was born in Nepean (suburb of Ottawa), Canada in 1971. She studied drama at the National Theatre School in Montreal and also started performing as a ballet dancer which she continued for almost 14 years. During her drama education from National Theatre School, she also took part in many plays and practiced her acting. Later she moved on to London and started a stage production with David Mamet's of "Oleanna" and was, for the first time, seen on Canadian television with a lead role in The Diary of Evelyn Lau (1993). Soon with her charming personality, great sense of humor and outstanding performances she was loved by the Canadian audience. She was a rising star and had many offers waiting for her. She won the 1994 FIPA (Festival International de Programmes Audiovisuals) for Best Actress for her role in the CBC production "Runaway: The Diary of Evelyn Lau." Her role in "Double Happiness" earned her a Best actress award in 1995. Again in 1997 she was honored as the best actress for a comedy series for her role in "Arli$$" and In 1999 she won the Canadian Genie Award for Best Actress for her role in the movie "Last Night". Later in 2003 she got married to writer and director Alexander Payne and they together worked on their first film in 2004 "Sideways" that was an Oscar winning movie.
