Katie Holmes - December 18th 1978, Toledo, Ohio, USA.  Born and brought up in Toledo, while studying she acted in high school theater productions. About Katie parents, her father was a lawyer and her mother is a housewife. Katie had no intention of becoming an actress before she met a manager who encouraged her to move on to Los Angeles for a role in television pilot season. Katie attended a modeling show in New York City. After her first audition she earned her first role in feature film called "The Ice Storm" in 1997 and that was the beginning of Katie's acting career. In 1998 she was voted as the "Babe of the year 98" by Expressen Fredag, Sweden. Also she was chosen as one of the Teen People Magazine's "21 Hottest Stars Under 21" in 1999. She earned success and popularity for all her performances on screen from films like First Daughter, Pieces of April, The Singing Detective, Abandon, Phone Booth, The Gift, Wonder Boys, Teaching Mrs. Tingle, Muppets From Space, Go, Disturbing Behavior, Dawson's Creek, The Ice Storm. Currently she is living in Wilmington, NC where she is busy working on films like Batman Begins, Thank You for Smoking and Shame on You. In 1999 she was the winner of MTV movie award for Best Breakthrough Female Performance, and is currently dating Tom Cruise.
