Jake Gyllenhaal - He is an American actor born on the 19th of December 1980 in Los Angeles, California, USA. Jake belongs to a full film family, as he is the son of famous director Stephen Gyllenhaal and producer/screenwriter Naomi Foner Gyllenhaal, and the brother of actress Maggie Gyllenhaal. Almost all of his family members have proved them the most talented known personality in the film industry. Jake graduated from Harvard-Westlake (private) high school in 1998. He made his film debut in City Slickers (1991) and began to establish himself as an up and coming actor. He was first given notice for his heartwarming performance in the Universal film, OCTOBER SKY, directed by Joe Johnston. The film also starred Chris Owen, William Lee Scott, Chad Lindberg and Laura Dern. Jake's other projects include "The Day After Tomorrow, Moonlight Mile, Highway, The Good Girl, Lovely & Amazing, Bubble Boy, Donnie Darko, October Sky, Homegrown, Josh and S.A.M., A Dangerous Woman and City Slickers". In year 2002 he was awarded for Outstanding Newcomer for his performance in this is Our Youth at the Garrick Theatre in London, England. In 2004 People Magazine honored him when he was named one of People Magazine's 50 Hottest Bachelors. Also he was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for best actor in the critically acclaimed Donnie Darko. His current projects yet to released include Zodiac (2006), Jarhead (2005), Brokeback Mountain (2005-completed) and Proof (2005-completed).
