Jacinda Barrett

This Australian model-turned-actress was born in Brisbane, Queensland on August 2, 1972. She got her start as a model at age 17, which allowed her to travel throughout Europe. Barrett was exposed to American audiences when she was on MTV’s “The Real World: London” in 1995. She was the only Aussie on the show, and lived with three Americans and three Europeans on the show’s first season outside of the U.S. Afterwards, the tall dirty blonde beauty enrolled at the British American Drama Academy in Oxford, England and notched her first big screen role in “Campfire Tales” in 1997. In the same year, Barrett was also named one of People’s “50 Most Beautiful People in the World,” and since then she has appeared in numerous television and movie roles. In 2004, rumors indicated that Barrett, who is 5’10”, had to wear ballet slippers when acting in the same scene as Jaoquin Phoenix in “Ladder 49,” so she would not overshadow the actor. 2006 proved to be a busy one for Barrett. Most recently she appeared in the comedy film “School for Scoundrels,” starring alongside Jon Heder and Billy Bob Thornton. Barrett also starred in “The Last Kiss” and “Poseidon” in 2006, and will star in “The Namesake,” which is slated to release in March of 2007. Barrett earned her private pilot’s license, citing her father’s career as an airport firefighter. She married actor Gabriel Macht on December 29th, 2004.
