If his juvenile behavior is his shtick, I think it makes him a much more pathetic figure, and one the gay and lesbian community should not support…If we support behavior like Hilton’s, we applaud shallowness, arrogance, rage and invasion of privacy, and risk becoming what we despise. Perez Hilton is not the first Hollywood Celebrity dirt Digger or gossip columnist. Louella Parsons started it all working for William Randolph Hearst. Hedda Hopper, Walter Winchell,Liz Smith, Cindy Adams and scandal sheets like Confidential, National Inquirer, Whisper, New York Post’s Page Six, People and Us magazines followed.
